I have been cycling almost 30 years and just in the past year have  gotten interested in long distance.  I don't ever think I'll be interested enough to do a RAW or RAAM kind of distance though.  I've crewed for Mark many times:  RAAM 2005, Team RAAM 2007, Texas Hill Country 600, and many other small races.  Looking forward to the adventure of RAW!

I am a student at Texas State University, studying communication design.  I have also crewed many times for my dad and I have enjoyed the experience.  I try to ride a bit but my passion is gymnastics, which I have been doing for 16 years. I still love competing and have been on the Texas State team for 3 years.  I'm looking forward to another exciting time crewing for my dad.

I'm doing it again and so glad to be a part of Mark's Quest to tame the West.  I have had a passion for the Race Across America since I read an article in my local paper about such an outrageous event in 1991.  I have loved cycling since I learned to ride when I was 6 years old.  I can't ride those long distances but have found joy in helping those who can.  I have 4 years of RAAM under my belt as crew and as an official.  I have lost count on the number of years I have helped with The Texas Time Trials and Rando events that produce racers for RAAM.  Yeah! Let's go! Pedal, Pedal, Pedal!!!!

Unlike the rest of the crew, I have NOT been cycling forever - just 3.5 years.  I recently was introduced to the world of ultra distance cycling (randonnuering) and LOVE it.  To make me even a little more unique, I ride a performance recumbent type bike.
I've competed the past 3 years at the Texas Time Trials (both 4 person team 500 mile division-1st both times, & most recently the 24 hour event at the Texas Time Trials-2nd overall).  I will be competing in the upcoming (Feb-2010) 24 hour solo event at Sebring, FL & the HC600k in the Texas Hill country this March (4 person mixed team).
I crewed for the inaugural winner of the HC600K last year.  I was thrilled to be asked by Mark & Linda to crew for Mark during RAW this year.  I'm really looking forward to the adventure.  They both a very special people.

I actually got into cycling to lose weight.    I  came from a family that was very competitive and found cycling to be an outstanding outlet.  With the stress of everyday life to find something both enjoyable and rewarding, I feel very blessed.  It is my hope the everyone is as fortunate as I am to find their niche in life.
